Fifteen years ago, Kaari Meng began French General in an old barn along the Hudson River in upstate New York. Inspired by America’s first president and his remarkable estate on the banks of the Potomac River in Virginia, Fabricut launches its second George Washington’s Mount Vernon fabric and trimming collection. Over a period of 30 years, George Washington expanded and furnished Mount Vernon, cultivating the extensive acreage into a landscaped, well-considered artistic plan. In order to save the remarkable property, the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association formed in 1853 to faithfully preserve and fully restore George Washington’s home and the numerous historic artifacts to its original appearance.
